The Chancel Choir of the First United Methodist Church is a vital part of the worship experience. We invite you to come and join us. We practice at 7:00 on Wednesday evening. If God has blessed you with the ability to sing, here is your opportunity to use that ability for His Glory and Praise.

Our Church Choir
Do you know how blessed we are at First Methodist for the beautiful music we have each Sunday? Sandy Haddad, our choir director, would have an overflow if you only knew how much fun we have at practice and the blessing you receive when you look across the congregation and see all the smiling faces.
As a participant of the choir, (I'm taking a break for now), it takes a lot of commitment. Only since I have been sitting in the congregation (actually the balcony) have I fully appreciated the music. When singing, all I ever hear is the low-down side (a David Walker original), better known as the bass and alto section! To hear all the voices blend just fills my cup!
However; the special music you hear at Christmas, Easter, etc. means extra time given. Also, remember they have to have someone play for them at all these practices, so many thanks to Sara Belle Day and Justin Hanson for the special blessing they give us on Sunday mornings and for the practice time.
Sandy does a wonderful job in selecting our special music and directing. Keeping the choir room and music straight (all the paperwork), takes a lot of time, and organizing Sandy has all been the effort of Carol Reeves. She probably does more filing at our church than anyone.
Have you noticed all the young faces---what a pleasure for those of us who have been around for years! It is really a commitment for them with all the homework they have after practice.
This is your opportunity to serve and receive a blessing all at the same time, if you decide to come and join the choir. Sandy can work wonders for those of us less talentedeven I can get most of the notes after practicing a song 50 times!!
Thank you choir and musicians for a job well done this summer. I have received your blessing!
